Tramon Williams was signed to the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad in November 2006, and offered a contract with the team in January 2007. He was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2006. He did not see any playing time with the Texans, who released him at the conclusion of the 2006 preseason. Williams is expected to compete with Will Blackmon and Jarrett Bush for a back-up position at cornerback during 2007 training camp.

Williams attended Louisiana Tech University, where he played cornerback and returned punts. He was born in Houma, Louisiana.

Tramon Williams became a stand out kick returner in 2007. He played nickel in the postseason, and returned kickoffs for over 100 yards. During the regular season, he played in every game. He managed one interception during the regular season. His 42 yard return against the Giants during the regular season put the Packers in a great position to score a TD.

Against the Vikings he had two kickoff returns of 40+ yards. His best return of 65 yards came against Chicago at Lambeau Field on Oct. 7th. His play during the Carolina game won him the honor of defensive player of the week, where he picked up a punt and returned it 90+ yards for a touchdown.

At Detroit, Williams was picked on by the Lions quarterback after he replaced Woodson. He played at a high level, breaking up two passes, and making two tackles.

Williams started all 16 games of the 2008 season for the second year in a row and became part of the first team trio (including Woodson and Collins) to post five or more interceptions in a single season since the mid 1990s. At the Atlanta game he showed off his moves and posted a career high of 10 tackles in one game. He played multiple positions throughout the season, such as nickel back and LCB. His versatility adds to his value as a player and we cannot wait to see him during the 2009 season.
