Another knee injury took Montgomery out of action for the first seven games of the season. He replaced Gbaja-Biamila at Detroit, and went on to have his career best game at Chicago on December 23rd, where he had nine tackles.
2008 was a better year for Montgomery. He saw action in 14 games, started in eight, and only missed two games the entire year. At Tennessee, Montgomery was a moster on the field. He ended the game with 11 solo tackles, and a quarterback sack. He once again registered a sack on December 22nd.
