John Kuhn was a Pittsburgh Steeler before coming over to the Green Bay Packers. He played on their practice squad, and then over to their starting rotation.

The Packers picked up Kuhn in September of 2007. He started on their special teams roster, and moved his way up. He moved into the primary fullback position when Hall went down with an injury.

In 2008 John Kuhn played in every game. He had three starts, caught a few passes, and scored a touchdown run in one of his eight carries for the season. He was primarily used as fullback, clearing the way for Ryan Grant. He started his first game when Hall went out in september against Detroit.

Kuhn was a key blocker during the December game against Detroit where two Green Bay rushers ran for over 100 yards each.
