More Info
Jarrett Bush was signed by the Green Bay Packers off waivers at the beginning of the 2006 season. He was waived from the Carolina Panthers, after being signed by them as an undrafted free agent in 2006. For the Packers, Bush saw action in every regular season game, primarily on special teams. Bush also appeared periodically in the Packers’ defensive backfield, relieving Charles Woodson and Patrick Dendy throughout the season. In training camp 2007, Bush will be competing with Dendy, Will Blackmon, and Tramon Williams for the third cornerback position, which sees considerable action in nickel and dime defensive sets.

Bush began his college career at American River Junior College in California, but transferred to Utah State University his junior year. He saw action in every one of the 22 games during his time at Utah State, starting 13 of them. During his senior year, Bush excelled at cornerback, ranking 6th nationally in passes defended and earning All-Western Athletic Conference First Team honors.

Bush grew up in Vacaville, California and attended Will C. Wood High School. He competed in wrestling and track in high school as well as football, excelling in both sports. He graduated from college with a major in sociology.

Jarrett Bush has become the Packers solid nickel back and a special teams master. Bush was inactive for only two games during the 2007 season. Bush started at Dallas, filling in for Woodson. Owens had Bush on the run during that match up. Bush is better suited for work in the nickel package.

His stats for the year show that he had 23 tackles. On special teams against the Eagles, he managed a fumble recovery, and racked up three stops. His fumble recovery saved the day against Philadelphia. Bush is likely to be back for the 2008 season after his stellar special teams play.

In the off season, the Titans made an offer to acquire Bush. Green Bay matched the offer from the Titans, and Bush remains on the Packers squad.

In 2008, he played in all games and even came in second place on the team with 17 special teams tackles. He let the team with participating in about 75% of special teams plays. At the Jacksonville game he saw a season-high on special teams with three tackles and lead the team. We hope to see more of this shining star during the 2009 season.
