More Info
Donald Driver entered the NFL draft in 1999. He was picked up by Green Bay in the seventh round, and since that time, he has become a stellar wide receiver. Coming out of a small college program did not hinder his chances at being picked up by the NFL. Driver compiled just shy of 2000 yards in college, and broke college records in track and field.
Many stories have been written about Donald Driver’s rise to fame from the streets. Growing up homeless, Driver fought against the temptations that come with desperation.
By the 1999 draft, Driver was far from homeless.
Donald Driver has a reputation of being one of the toughest wide receivers in the NFL. This reputation came to be because Donald is not afraid to catch the high-risk pass in the middle of the field. Green Bay Packers fans are not surprised that he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times.
Driver has broken the 600-reception mark in 2009, and looks forward to working with Aaron Rodgers in the coming years. Highlights include his Lambeau Leap, the 90+ yard reception in the 2007 NFC Championship game, and his being the recipient of Brett Favre’s record breaking pass.
Donald Driver has caught passes of 40+ yards every season since 2000. As of 2008, he amassed over 40 touchdown catches, and nearly 8000 yards receiving. He played in every game but two since his rookie season.
