Daryn Colledge was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft, with the 45th pick overall. Daryn Colledge displayed outstanding speed and technique in college and quickly established himself as a strong offensive lineman for the 2006 Packers. He started 15 games for the Green and Gold and is the expected starter coming into 2007 training camp.

Colledge played his first NFL game against the Chicago Bears on September 10th, primarily on special teams. The following week he cracked the starting lineup, and there he remained for the rest of the regular season. Alongside fellow rookie Jason Spitz and Tony Moll, Colledge led an offensive line unit that continually improved throughout the season and is looking to dominate the NFC North in 2007. Colledge’s impressive rookie season was recognized by the football press, resulting in him being named to Pro Football Weekly’s All-Rookie Team. He also received Coach Mike McCarthy’s Most Improved Player Award in recognition for the tremendous strides he made his rookie year.

Colledge was a four-year starter at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, setting the school record for most consecutive starts with 52. He helped lead the Broncos to s four-year tear in which they won four conference championships and finished with a cumulative 45-7 record. Colledge also received all-conference honors for three consecutive years, garnering first team accolades his junior and senior years. Three times he was named Boise State’s Most Outstanding Lineman.

Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Colledge grew up in North Pole, Alaska, a small town of 1400 people. He lived on S. Santa Claus Lane. Colledge graduated from Boise State University with a degree in communications and intends to pursue a career in broadcast media after his playing days are over. Colledge is married and enjoys reading and golfing in his free time.

Daryn Colledge played various line positions in the 2007 season. His 13 starts were mostly at left guard. Against the Vikings on Nov. 11th, Daryn was moved to right guard in replacement for an injured Mark Tauscher. He fit at any position he was placed into. He was on the field when Ryan Grant broke the playoff record run of 201 yards, and at Denver, when the Packers finally broke the 100-yard barrier for a single running back.

A low point for Daryn was at Dallas. He was pulled from his position and replaced with Junius Coston. Daryn Colledge came in as replacement for Spitz at various times throughout the season, and started at left guard for the final game of the regular season. During that last game, they moved him to left tackle, since his versatility is the hallmark of his style of play. Daryn Colledge had improved his strength compared to 2006 and it paid off.

The 2008 season was the first time Colledge started all 16 regular season games in his professional career and impressed many by being the only other player on the team to take every offensive snap. He aided in the protection of Rodgers, allowing him to gain over 1,200 rushing yards and become a 4,000 passer, a Packers first. He played multiple positions over the course of the season, including left guard, left tackle and right tackle. His blocking skills will be key in his leading the team to victory in the 2009 season.
