Calvin Russell was acquired by the Green Bay Packers in 2006 as an undrafted free agent. A standout during 2006 training camp, Russell signed a two-year contract and is expected to compete in a crowded receiving corps for a back up position.

Russell attended Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama, where he lettered in football for three years and track for four. He posted standout receiving numbers his senior year, and returned kickoffs for the team as well. In track, Russell ran the 100 and 200 meter dashes and the 4x100 relay, in which his team qualified for national trials.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Russell still resides there today. Calvin could be found on the Green Bay Packers practice squad for two years. He was released at the end of 2007
