Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Swain had a very successful college career at San Diego State. Known for his running and ball handling, he had a record of 135 receptions for 1893 yards and 8 touchdowns. Signed to the Packers in 2008 and stayed on the practice squad for the entirety of the season.

He stayed with the Green Bay Packers as a reserve.
