The legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback, now retired, has too many records to print in their entirety. Brett Favre holds the record for most passing yards, touchdown passes, interceptions, consecutive games played as quarterback, three time MVP, and most victories as a starting quarterback.
He played in two superbowls, winning one, and was selected to the pro bowl numerous times. Brett Favre managed to overcome injuries, personal struggles, and family setbacks, all while leading the Packers for 16 seasons. Brett Favre’s jersey is recognized all over the world, and has been a top five seller for over a decade.
Favre managed to play though the pain of an injured hamstring, broken thumb, injured elbow, ankle, and ribs. Brett Favre can certainly hold his head high as he waits for his induction to the NFL hall of fame in 2013. The Iron Man of the Green Bay Packers will surely be missed on game day.
Brett felt the itch to play once again. Green Bay allowed Brett to play for the New York Jets. In return, Green Bay would high level draft picks.
The Jets nearly made the playoffs with Favre at the wheel. At the end of teh 2008 season, he once again retired.
Favre has considered coming out of retirement a fourth time. He may wind up playing with the Minnesota Vikings, as long as his aged body can hold out.
He signed a two year contract with the Minnesota Vikings and took the team all the way to the NFC championship game. Once again, we watched Favre throw a game changing interception, and the Vikings fell short.
