More Info
Brandon Jackson was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2007 NFL draft, with the 63rd pick overall. Jackson is expected to challenge veterans Vernand Morency and Noah Herron for primary running duties, with many seeing him becoming the primary running back of the future for the Green and Gold. He was forced to miss 2007 mini-camp due to an engagement with the NFL Players Association, but Jackson was reportedly very unhappy about being away from his team and was eager to get to work on learning the offense.

Jackson attended the University of Nebraska, where he established himself as a multipurpose threat in the 2006 season. Rushing for 989 yards and catching 33 passes for 313 yards after splitting time early in the season, Jackson scored 10 touchdowns for the Cornhuskers and carried them to a Cotton Bowl appearance. He was named an All-Big 12 selection by the AP and a second team selection by conference coaches.

Jackson majored in sociology at Nebraska and was named to the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll in 2004. He was born in Horn Lake, Mississippi.

Brandon Jackson suffered from the injury bug during the Packers vs. Chargers game. He spent the next four weeks healing up before coming back to play against the Chiefs. Although it really didn’t mean much in the standings, Jackson ran for one hundred yards against Detroit, for the last game of the regular season. His four catches against the Eagles put the packers in position to score the winning field goal in regulation. Favre found Jackson to be a solid receiver coming out of the backfield, having four catches in two different games.

For the 2008 season, Jackson finished second on the team posting 248 yards. At the Detroit game, he put in 61 rushing yards on seven carries, helping the team win the game with a 19 yard touch down in the fourth quarter.

In his last game of 2008 against Carolina, he took the role of primary back to fill in for Grant. He rushed for a season-high of 80 yards on 11 carries. He was inactive for three games in the season, one due to illness and the other two due to a wrist injury acquired in mid December.
