Bart Starr was drafted in the 17th round by the Green Bay Packers. As a Packer, Starr made the Pro Bowl four times. He was also a First Team All Pro. He lead the Packer to two Super Bowl wins.

In the former fourteen game schedule, he threw a career 152 touchdowns. In his playoff career, he threw for fifteen touchdowns. During his 16 seasons in Green Bay, he threw for 24,718 yards, 1808 completions, and had a low interception percentage of 4.4%.

He retired with a lifetime passer rating of over 80%. His personal stats for 1966 stand out. He threw for 156 completions; his completion percentage was a stand out 62.2%. That same season, he threw only three interceptions and ran in for two touchdowns. His passer rating for 1966 was 105.0. As expected, that year he was voted to go to the Pro Bowl.

The sportswriters of the day heaped accolades upon Starr in that same year of 1966. The list includes: Sporting News 1st team, AP 1st team, Pro Football Writers 1st team, Newspaper Assoc. 1st team all NFL, New York Daily News 1st team.

After taking a five year break from football, Starr was chosen as head coach of the Green Bay Packers. As a coach, Bart Starr did not have the same success as he did on the field as quarterback.

In nine years as coach, he had two .500 seasons, and one 8-7-1 season that gave the Packers a division championship. During a shortened strike season, Starr managed to pull out a .625 season with replacement players. That year, Starr saw his only playoff win in his coaching career.

In 1984, Starr left coaching and football. His charity work and speaking engagements fill his time now. You can find Bart Starr officiating at the occasional coin toss up at Lambeau Field. It can be said that as a player, Bart Starr brought the spotlight to Green Bay.
