Atari Bigby
Atari Bigby was signed to the Green Bay Packers’ active roster on Novembre 15, 2006 from the team’s practice squad. Originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2005, Bigby was waived, picked up by the New York Jets, and waived again before making his way to Green Bay. He played five games for the Packers in 2006, recording 5 special teams tackles. Bigby played for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe in 2006, starting 10 games and recording 61 tackles and one interception. He attended college at Central Florida University, where he was a four year letterman in football. He tallied 296 career tackles and gained a reputation as a hard hitter during his college career. He graduated with a degree in liberal studies. Bigby attended high school with Packers teammate Marquand Manuel at Miami Senior High School. Originally born in Jamaica, Atari has not returned since he was age 7. Outside of football, he has been engaged in his community, taken part in the Edgar Bennett Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon, and worked in construction. Atari Bigby had a good year in 2007. He started all 16 games as strong safety. His ranked third in total tackles for the roster. Having picked off quarterbacks five times in the year, he ended up with the title of NFC defensive player in December. In the back and fourth game against San Diego, Bigby racked up a total of 14 tackles. He has had more tackles than any other Packers DB since 1990. Although he had made a few mental mistakes during close games, Atari was a force to be reckoned with, when wide receivers ran routes into the middle of the field. In 2008 we saw Bigby start six out of the seven games he played and he contributed 20 solo tackles and one interception. He was ailed all year by an ankle injury that was triggered at a preseason game and then pulled a hamstring during the second week of the regular season. He played hard when he finally came back to the field at Tennessee in early November with seven tackles. Later in the season, he encountered a shoulder injury during the Carolina game and didn’t see playing time the rest of the season. © 2010 GreenBayPackersTicket.net Terms of Service |
