East Troy is a small village in southeastern Wisconsin the scenic Walworth County. The population is around 4,500, with comprised of roughly 1,000 families. The town boasts one high school, a municipal airport, and one of the best outdoor theaters in the nation, Alpine Valley.

Alpine Valley Music Theater is an outdoor amphitheater located just outside of East Troy. Its maximum capacity is 37 thousand.  A wooden roof covers Twenty percent of the area, and the rest of the venue is a vast open lawn. This seasonal venue is equidistant between Madison, Milwaukee, Rockford, and Chicago. Its locality brings out a large regional audience. Built in 1977, Alpine Valley was the largest venue in the United States at that time, until the San Manuel Amphitheater was built in 1993 in California.

The amphitheater draws enormous crowds for many popular artists that return year after year.  Artists such as Jimmy Buffett and Dave Matthews Band play the venue nearly every year. Jimmy Buffett's devoted fan base, affectionately called the "parrot heads," have been coming to Alpine Valley for over 2 decades to experience the fun of a live performance. Dave Matthews Band also plays nearly every summer, and Dave himself has regarded the venue as the bands "favorite place to play."  Some other big names that have played at Alpine Valley are Pearl Jam, The Grateful Dead, Coldplay, Aerosmith, and even Madonna.
